This is Anne... Complete and Real
A Janet Jackson Song
Published on March 3, 2004 By Tangled Wishes In Music
This is a song that I find very powerful, very personal, moving, and infuriating. I hope no one else has ever been in a position like this, but I know that it happens often, too often. And I can only beg anyone who is in a relationship like this to get out. It's the best thing you can do.

What About
by Janet Jackson

We walked along the beach
What a moonlit night
He held my hands in his
He kissed me he said
I wanna spend my life with you
I want you for my wife
Just then I thought

What about the times you lied to me
What about the times you said no one would want me
What about all the shit you've done to me
What about that
What about that
What about the times you yelled at me
What about the times I cried
You wouldn't even hold me
What about those things
What about that
What about that

I took a pause
And then a deep sigh
He looked right into my eyes
As he said
I know I didn't say something wrong
I didn't have the courage to say
But then I thought

What about the times you lied to me
What about the times you said no one would want me
What about all the shit you've done to me
What about that
What about that
What about the times you yelled at me
What about the times I cried
You wouldn't even hold me
What about those things
What about that
What about that
What about the times you hit my face
What about the times you kept on
When I said no more please
What about those things
What about that
What about that
What about the times you shamed me
What about the times you said you didn't fuck her
She only gave you head

Don't wanna live my life in misery
Don't tell me you did it 'cause you love me
I don't believe
I'm sick and tired
Your deceptive games
Wondering where
You have been
I can't live life wondering

My heart was poundin'
But the time had come
To stop letting my whispering heart control me
And tellin' my screaming mind what to do
I looked him straight in the eye
And then I said

What about the times you lied to me
What about the times you said no one would want me
What about all the shit you've done to me
What about that
What about that
What about the times you yelled at me
What about the times I cried
You wouldn't even hold me
What about those things
What about that
What about that
What about the times you hit my face
What about the times you kept on
When I said no more please
What about those things
What about that
What about that
What about the times you shamed me
What about the times you said you didn't fuck her
She only gave you head
What about that
What about that
What about the times you lied to me
What about the times you said no one would want me
What about all the shit you've done to me
What about that
What about that
What about the times you yelled at me
What about the times I cried
You wouldn't even hold me
What about those things
What about that
What about that
What about the times you shamed me
What about the times you said you didn't fuck her
She only gave you head
What about that
What about that?

Only Janet Jackson would express so much repetitve dramatics to tell someone to get lost.

hey! i'm new here. i just thought i'd drop by, and i ended up reading six pages of your blog. it's... it's definitely honest, and people never appreciate what that really means. most of your stuff made a lot of sense. too much sense, actually. and it's scary. but in a good way! i mean, even when it's about bad stuff. um. going to shut up now.

Pyre, keep up with Anne's stuff. It becomes addictive. Good to have ya! And good to know you have good taste.

she should add another line...

"what about the time that you tore off part of my dress in front of all those people?"
